Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Recola app and website, operated by Recola Pty Ltd ("Recola", "we", "us"). By using Recola you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What Recola does

Recola lets you save shared social videos, analyses them using AI (including Google Gemini) to extract structured information — recipes, places, outfits, products, songs, and more — and organises those extractions into a personal library. For outfits and products, Recola provides outbound links to retailers, some of which may be affiliate links.

Using Recola

You may use Recola for your own personal, lawful purposes. You are responsible for the videos and links you choose to save, and for ensuring that doing so does not infringe the rights of others or violate the terms of the platforms you save from. You must not use Recola to save or process content you do not have the right to share.

Your content

You retain ownership of the links and content you save. By saving content to Recola you grant us the limited licence necessary to process, analyse, and display it back to you within the service. We do not claim ownership of your saved content and do not share it with other users.

AI-extracted information

The structured data Recola extracts (ingredients, addresses, product names, and so on) is generated by AI and may not be complete or accurate. You should verify any information before relying on it — for example, checking allergens in a recipe or confirming a location's address before visiting. Recola is a tool to help you organise and revisit content, not a substitute for independent verification.

Affiliate links

When Recola identifies outfits, products or decor in your saved videos it may display links to retailers. Some of those links are affiliate links and Recola may receive a commission if you make a purchase through them. This does not affect the price you pay, and it does not affect which items we show you or how we rank them. We only link to legitimate retailers and do not endorse specific products.

Nothing is tracked until you tap a shopping link. Recola does not place affiliate cookies, monitor your browsing, or serve advertising in the background, while the app is closed, or at any time you are not actively tapping a shopping link. When you do tap one, we open the retailer in your device's browser through our affiliate partner's redirect, and at that point the retailer or affiliate network may set a cookie and receive standard click data — such as your device type and that the click came from Recola — solely to attribute a resulting purchase. We never hide, cloak or disguise a link's destination, and shopping links always open in your external browser. See our Privacy Policy for full detail and opt-out options.

Intellectual property

The Recola app, its design, and any content we create are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute them without our permission.

Availability

We work to keep Recola available and reliable, but we provide it "as is" and without warranties, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. We are not liable for any loss arising from inaccurate AI extractions, service interruptions, or links to third-party retailers.

Third-party services

Recola relies on third-party services (including Google Gemini for AI analysis and cloud infrastructure providers). Your use of Recola is also subject to those providers' terms to the extent they apply. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party services.

Changes

We may update these terms as Recola evolves. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of Recola after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
